Expedition Timeline
For centuries, long caravans of men and camels crossed the deserts of Morocco, venturing from oasis to kasbah as they delivered goods to remote lands. Relive the adventures of those long-ago days with a 21st-century twist on this off-road expedition. Take on the Sahara sands via four-wheel-drive vehicle and camel, following the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs" and experiencing nomadic life at your private desert camp. Split into groups of two, one driving and the other navigating, you are at the wheel as your team passes stunning landscapes and navigates the ever-shifting dunes. Your off-road trek concluded, spend a recuperative day in Marrakech, taking in its unique history and ambience with your local guide.

Arrive Ouarzazate, Morocco
Arriving in Morocco, meet with your guide and teammates to prepare for your off-road expedition.
Berbere Palace [ D ]- Days 2-3
Ramlia
Depart on your self-drive four-by-four expedition to Ramlia. Passing soaring, rocky terrain and boundless sandscapes, you arrive at a private desert camp, where you spend the next two nights under the Saharan skies dining on traditional fare before a roaring campfire. The next day, rise early to explore the desert by camelback, continuing along the Paris-Dakar route, where shifting dunes reveal breathtaking scenery.
A&K Exclusive Desert Camp [ B D ]- Day 4
Erfoud/Ouarzazate
Drive your four-by-four vehicle to Erfoud, continuing to Ouarzazate via Tinjedad and Todra Valley. Follow the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” which takes you through stunning desert landscapes dotted with villages and palm groves, as well as the cliff-sided Todra Gorge, situated at the remote, eastern side of the High Atlas Mountains.
Berbere Palace [ B D ]- Days 5-6
Ait Ben Haddou/Telouet/Marrakech
Head to Ait Ben Haddou, a spectacular fortified village where houses — perched on a steep slope and surrounding decorated kasbahs — seem to defy the laws of gravity. Continue off-road to Telouet, visiting the Andalusian-style kasbah of Pacha Glaoui, one-time home of early 20th-century Marrakech governor T’hami el Glaoui. Continue to Marrakech, passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass, reaching 7,414 feet. Spend the next day exploring the monuments and gardens of Marrakech, including the Saadian Tombs, 360-room Badii Palace, and marvel at the Bahia Palace, and Dar Si Said’s Museum of Moroccan Arts. After lunch, see fire-eaters, mime artists, snake charmers and street musicians as well as fresh-pressed orange juice vendors at Djemaa el-Fna square.
